Year in review, 2000

Player of the year

Mike Ford, lead the team from the front on and off the pitch.

Season highlights

Beating Doncaster in the play offs after they had been unbeaten at home all year.

Season lows

Having to play extra time at Doncaster which meant we had no chance at Leigh the week after.

The arrival of Mike Ford and half the Bramley side revitalised the club. All season long we looked likely to qualify for the play offs without ever being able to take it for granted. At the end of the season the signing of Steve Molloy gave the team an extra bit of class. If we hadn't conceded a last minute try to Doncaster forcing extra time I think we could have gone all the way to the Grand final. As it was the extra effort took it out of a squad already reduced to the bare bones by injuries and we had nothing in the tank at Leigh the following week. I think this year's team was better than the one we had the following year.
